Living Afield Plant Deep-Dive class

"Where The Outdoors Is Our Classroom"

image

I have spend most of my life studying plants. around 38 years ago I was asked by a local community college to teach my first plant and survival class. They billed it as a Phys-Ed elective. I have taught many hundreds, if not thousands of people about plants. The comment I hear most often is "My brain hurts. This was way too much information to try to comprehend." I have tried various class outlines and iterations, but the result is usually the same. I try to teach far too much information in far too short a time. I have tried classes that meet once a week for multiple weeks, but life gets in the way, and people were not any happier with this format.

This new intensive plant deep-dive will take place over one weekend. We will meet Saturday morning and drive to a camping location in the picture perfect forests of northern Michigan. We will set up our camp for the night and then spend the day in the forest idenfifying and discussing plants. We will harvest, prepare, and enjoy these delicious treats for supper Saturday might. As we sit around the fire that night, we will prepare some delicious, healthful, medicinal tea and while we enjoy this we will further discuss plants and their uses. When we are awakened by the sounds of a Sunday morning forest, we will head back out and harvest medicinal plants and spend the rest of the morning and early afternoon preparing healthful tinctures that you will take home with you.

Knowledge is power!!!

Each of us has heard and read the stories about the toxic side effects of pharmaceutical drugs. Over 100,000 people die each year from prescription drugs. Learning to make your own safe, effective, medicines from the plants that surround us each day can be a boon to your health.

"Give someone food and medicine and they will enjoy a day of good health,
Teach someone to harvest plants for food and medicine, and they will enjoy a lifetime of good health."

Anyone who attends an in person class receives
a free elecronic copy of my 831 page plant book.
